Graco DuoGlider

Here is my summary of parent reviews of the Graco DuoGlider Double Stroller culled from websites such as Amazon.com, Epinions.com, and BabyCenter.com. Listed below are the most commonly mentioned pros and cons.

Overview:

Weight: 37 lbs.
Cost: $130-$250
  • best overall budget tandem stroller for balancing value and price
  • low scores for durability

Special Function(s):

  • can be used as a travel system for one baby or twins
  • older child can comfortably sit in the front seat
  • Pros Cons
can be used as a travel system that accommodates two infant car seats (ex. Graco Snugride) for twins (bought separately) or one car seat (bought with the stroller) basket is difficult to get to when back seat is reclined
easy to maneuver with one hand difficult to see infant in car seat when attached to rear seat
raised back seat ("stadium seating") all wheels need to be perfectly aligned to collapse the stroller
good suspension (shock absorbers) not very good on rough terrain (sand, gravel, bumps, grass...)
folds compactly and easily too big for compact cars
good parent and child trays issues with the sunshades (use of parent cupholder, when folding the stroller)
looks good (variety of classic, neutral patterns) have to remove front child tray to fold stroller
easy to assemble heavy (over 30 lbs)
Graco has very good customer service
    easily available to purchase

    Final Comments:

    • overall, parents were happy with their purchase of the Graco DuoGlider, although parents who had already used a higher quality stroller (ex: Peg Perego) noticed the difference in quality and were disappointed with their purchase
    • may be best for children of different ages (toddler can sit in front seat with better view and doesn't need fully reclining seat)
    • best for twins when they're young and still in infant car seats (a side-by-side double stroller with two fully reclining seats is often preferred when they're older)
    • parents recommend getting the upgraded model of the DuoGlider with better canopies and 5-point seatbelts
